“90 Day Fiancé” star Armando Rubio emotionally shared how his daughter Hannah was released from an Arizona hospital after suffering a brain bleed.
In a three-part video posted to Instagram on Monday, Rubio, who was initially unable to cross the border from Mexico to be with Hannah, said her condition has greatly improved since he was finally able to be by her side.
“Actually, I’m just so happy, so excited, so excited to let you all know that Hannah has been released from the hospital. This is the best news we can have right now,” Rubio said.
Her husband, Kenneth Niedermayer, added that he was “so happy” that 13-year-old Hannah would be able to leave the hospital.
“Lo and behold, since Armando has been here, she’s gotten better and better, she’s improved by leaps and bounds,” he said. “The doctors were very pleased with her progress and said, ‘We think she’ll do better this time if we treat her with you guys in a home environment.'”
Hannah’s condition is still unclear, but she will have to stay in the Phoenix area for another month under medical supervision. Doctors still don’t know what caused Hannah’s brain bleed, and Rubio said it was “unsettling” that Hannah didn’t have a diagnosis.
The girl is currently taking anti-seizure medication, but is still partially blind in her eye and will need to go to rehab to strengthen her facial muscles.
The couple deeply thanked their fans and “90 Day Fiancé” castmates for their support throughout the ordeal, saying that without them fighting for them and bringing attention to their situation, Rubio would never have been able to come to the United States.
Rubio is updating fans after 13-year-old Hannah suddenly fell ill last week and had to be taken to a hospital in Arizona because the small Mexican town lacked proper testing equipment.
Half of Hannah’s face was “dangling” and half of her body was weak, leading to what doctors diagnosed as a brain bleed and ultimately had to be airlifted to a Phoenix hospital’s intensive care unit.
To make matters worse, Rubio was initially not allowed to cross the U.S. border to be with his daughter after his request for humanitarian parole was denied. But he was able to get into Arizona on Saturday and was reunited with Hanna and Niedermayer, who was by her side while Rubio couldn’t go.
Rubio broke down in tears afterward, thanking Niedermayer. The couple, who wed in May 2021, have been a “90 Day Fiancé” fan favorite since their debut on “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” Season 2. Cameras captured Niedermayer moving to Mexico with Rubio after the two connected through a Facebook group for gay fathers.
“I married him because I knew he was a great father. From that moment on, I fell in love with him,” Rubio said of her husband, who is also the father of four children.
“And he proved it last week, why he made the best decisions of my life, why he’s my best friend, why he’s the love of my life, why he’s a great father to Hannah. I’m truly blessed.”
Rubio told Page Six last week that he was working with an immigration attorney to make an emergency request for him to enter the United States so he could see Hanna.
“Every parent wants to be at their child’s bedside when they’re sick, but not being able to hold their hand or comfort them is the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced,” he told us. “I feel like we were separated when she needed her father the most.”
He added: “I’m doing everything I can to reunite with her because more than anything she needs her daddy and I need to be with my little girl.”
