Influencer Nala Smith announced in a heartfelt Instagram video that her 2-year-old daughter Wimsey Lou is now in remission.
“I just wanted to come here and say thank you so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so soside so so so so so so so so by so by so much for all your kind messages, prayers and support. It really meant so much to us,” she told her followers on Friday while holding a tea cup and sitting in a field of flowers.
“Lucky and I have been going through and processing this for the last eight months, and we even debated sharing even such private parts of our lives,” she added, referring to her husband, musician Lucky Blue Smith.
The lifestyle influencer said she decided to share the update “now that[Wimsey]is finally in remission” and hopes to “shed some light on what so many families are going through and battling personally.”
Nala, 24, said, “Going through chemotherapy opened my eyes to how expensive medical costs are, especially how much of a burden it is on my family.”
The mother of four said she would be posting links aimed at “helping families” going through similar ordeals.
“Lucky and I have been trying to get back to normal life and taking it one day at a time,” she continued. “We don’t know if life will ever feel normal again, but we are trying to get through this next chapter as best we can.”
Nara concluded by thanking her fans for their “kindness” and sending “love to the families who are still actively working through this battle.”
Earlier this month, Nala announced on social media that her third child, Wimsey Lou, was diagnosed with cancer “late last year” and that it was “not something I can easily say or talk about”.
The TikTok star told fans that her daughter and Lucky took her to the emergency room after noticing “something suspicious,” and later visited her pediatrician, who told her to go to a children’s hospital.
“At that moment, my heart sank,” she recalls. “I don’t know if my gut told me something or if it was just my mom’s gut, but the first thing I thought was, ‘She has cancer.’
Nala said: “After a number of X-rays, an ultrasound and finally a biopsy, they called us right away and told us that we had cancer. We were told that the cancer had spread and we needed to come in right away and start chemotherapy.”
At the time, Nala did not provide further details, explaining, “It’s been really hard to process this and get through all of this as a family.”
“We wanted to share this…we also wanted to motivate you to go get tested for something you’ve been avoiding,” Nala concluded her post.
A few days later, she shared a glimpse of Wimsey with a bare head covered in jewels and called her “little warrior girl 🎀.” She also shared a snapshot of the child’s cropped curls, which appeared to be on a bathroom countertop.
On July 7, she shared in another emotional post that her toddler’s hair was growing back after undergoing chemotherapy.
“If sharing these parts of our stories makes even one family feel less alone and one person learn more about childhood cancer, then opening up this vulnerable part of our lives is worth it,” she wrote in part. “Her curls are back today🤍”
Nala also has daughter Rumble Honey, 5, son Slim Easy, 4, and daughter Forney Golden, who was born in late 2025, with Lucky. Lucky also has an 8-year-old daughter, Gravity, with ex Stormy Brie.
