Pearl Studio’s animated comedy All Wishes Come True! is set to expand to international markets this summer after debuting in China on July 18th.
Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will be the first to release the film on August 13th, followed by the US, Canada, UK, Ireland and the Netherlands on August 14th. The film will end its release in Belgium and Luxembourg on September 4th.
Pearl Studios, whose credits include Kung Fu Panda 3, Abominable, and the Oscar-nominated film Over the Moon, produced the film in collaboration with CMC Pictures. The screenwriter and director is Mu Zhenyan, and the producer is Cao Linlin.
“All wishes come true!” This is a work that reinterprets the Chinese folk tale “The Eight Immortals Who Cross the Sea” as a mythological comedy. The story is about eight ordinary people, including Lu Dongbin and Zhongliquan, who disguise themselves as immortals in order to break into a legendary vault. Along the way, they recruit six more allies (He Xianggu, Tiegui Li, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guojiu, Lan Caihe, and Zhang Guoran) to confront a conspiracy that threatens the balance between the mortal and immortal worlds.
Hsu Han, who won the Hong Kong Film Award for “Shadow’s Edge,” designed the film’s action scenes, and Chen Hao, whose credits include “Ne Zha,” directed the voice cast.
The release comes as Chinese animation continues to gain momentum internationally. “Ne Zha 2” has grossed more than $2.2 billion worldwide, and the division’s overseas revenue reached $9.3 billion in 2025.
Beijing-based Pearl Studio operates as the animation division of CMC Inc. and ranks internationally as one of China’s largest and best-known animation companies. In addition to “Kung Fu Panda 3,” “Abominable” and “Over the Moon,” the studio is developing multiple original animated features based on traditional Chinese culture for audiences around the world.
CMC Pictures serves as the film division of CMC Inc. and covers development, production, investment, marketing and distribution. The company entered international distribution in 2016 and has since released approximately 120 films worldwide, including The Wandering Earth, Ne Zha and Detective Chinatown series, as well as Ip Man 4 and The Writer’s Journey, through a network spanning more than 500 cities in 100 countries.
