Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins believes quarterback Josh Allen’s new role as a father figure will earn the team a ticket to the 2027 Super Bowl.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the strength of his father,” Dawkins told Page Six of Allen, who welcomed daughter Harper Hayes and wife Hailee Steinfeld in April, at the 2026 Espy Awards ceremony in New York City on Wednesday. “It’s coming and we need it.”
The NFL player said of the quarterback, “Josh is bright. He’s had a great life. He plays hard and motivates us. This kid is unstoppable. He does crazy things. What’s not to love about him? That’s my quarterback.”
Dawkins confidently believes the Buffalo Bills will “of course” win the 2027 Super Bowl.
“We’re shooting for the stars,” he said. “There are a lot of hurdles to get through, but the first game of the season is camp. Everyone needs to participate and everyone deserves a chance. I think we have a good chance.”
Following an overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC divisional round, head coach Sean McDermott was fired in January, ending his nine-year tenure with the Bills. The team quickly announced that offensive coordinator Joe Brady would replace the beloved coach.
“We all love him, he’s got great energy, he’s cool, he’s a young, hip guy,” Dawkins said of the new manager.
Dawkins is especially looking forward to facing Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs next season, calling the rivalry his “favorite game.”
Espies, presented by ESPN, featured some of the biggest names in sports, including Jalen Brunson, Lindsey Vonn and Dawkins’ teammate Damar Hamlin.
Buffalo Bills training camp begins July 29, and Allen, 30, plans to return to work in preparation for the upcoming NFL season.
Steinfeld, 29, announced her pregnancy with Allen, whom she married on May 31, 2025, in a December Substack issue titled “29 Favorite Moments of the Year.”
The “Sinners” actress wore a jacket that read “Mother” in the video clip, which also showed her husband kissing her baby’s exposed butt.
Their daughter was born in April, and the singer announced the news in a Substack post.
“Our baby is here!! We are incredibly grateful, blessed and enjoying these early moments,” she wrote. “Thank you so much for your love and blessings.”
In June, Steinfeld announced her daughter’s name in a Substack letter to her newborn.
“You’ve only been here for a short time, but somehow it feels like you’ve always been ours,” the sweet letter read.
