Benny Blanco posted a video of himself crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a boat for his wife Selena Gomez’s birthday on TikTok. Blanco was vocal about his deep fear of flying and the workarounds he took to get to Europe. Earlier this month, the couple spent time together in New York City when Gomez visited Taylor Swift for her wedding.
Selena Gomez celebrates her 34th birthday on July 22nd, and her husband Benny Blanco is literally willing to cross an ocean to be with her. The music producer posted a TikTok of himself on a boat bound for London, where Gomez is filming Season 6 of Billboard. “POV footage of you flying across the Atlantic on the Titanic to meet your wife because you’re scared of flying,” he wrote.
Gomez and Blanco spent time together in New York City earlier this month, attending Taylor Swift’s rehearsal dinner and wedding on July 2nd and 3rd.
Blanco has been open about his fear of flying, and has even traveled to Europe by boat in the past to avoid flying.
In an interview with Jay Shetty last March on On Purpose with Jay Shetty, he explained, “I’m going to Europe on a ship. Oh my god, it’s so long. It’s like first driving to New York, then being on a boat for eight days, then going on the Titanic.”
Shetty asked Gomez what it was like to fly with a swing. “He doesn’t fly,” she said.
“I’ve done it before, but not since we started dating,” he agreed.
The actress said she would be hesitant to get on a plane with him. “Because I’m so worried about him. I think it’s because I’m so scared of him.”
When Blanco spoke to Elle for an interview last year, he was always driving cross-country to meet Gomez, who was filming Only Murder in New York City.
Of flying, he said, “Oh my god, I hate it. It’s scary. I’m in Dallas. I’m driving from Los Angeles to New York.”
