Grammy-nominated artists Tate McRae and Sombre, along with actors Tyrik Withers and Malachi Barton, will be honored at Variety’s 2026 Power of Young Hollywood presented by Disney+ on August 5 in Los Angeles. The annual event recognizes the best new actors, musicians, and artists who are taking the industry by storm.

McRae will receive the Triple Threat Award. The pop sensation has garnered more than 20.8 billion streams overall, multiple No. 1 hits within the Top 40, and a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. She has won numerous awards, including Artist of the Year at both the 2024 and 2025 JUNO Awards. Her honors also include two MTV VMAs, five Billboard Music Award nominations, multiple People’s Choice Awards and an iHeartRadio Music Award. Last year, McRae appeared on the global cover of TIME100’s Next issue and won the Powerhouse Award at Variety Hitmakers. In 2021, she was named to Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30” list, making her the youngest musician to be recognized.

McRae’s RIAA-certified No. 1 5x Platinum single “You Broke Me First” has amassed more than 2.5 billion streams since its release in 2020. Her debut album, “I Used to Think I Could Fly,” debuted at number 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Album Debut chart and reached the top 10 in multiple countries. The Calgary native’s platinum-certified second album, “Think Later,” catapulted her into pop stardom. Released in 2023, the album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Album Chart and featured the four-time platinum-certified single “Greedy,” which propelled her to No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart and the Global Exclusive Chart. US Charts, Spotify Global Charts, Radio Top 40. Last year, McRae released his long-awaited third album, “So Close to What,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album included “Revolving Doors” and “It’s Ok I’m Okay,” both of which reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart. The star’s sold-out worldwide “Miss Possessive” arena tour featured more than 80 performances and sold 1 million tickets.

A multi-award winning, Grammy-nominated, and up for grabs for the Songwriter of the Year award, superstar Somber has dominated airplay and charts around the world since her breakthrough 2025 hit “Back to Friends.” The song became his first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit (charting for 52 weeks) and reached #1 on Spotify’s Global and US charts. That summer, he released his debut studio album, I Barely Know Her. The album features record-breaking hits and standout fan and critic favorites “Undressed” and “12 to 12,” each of which reached the Top 20 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Hot 100.

Following a breakout year that included winning Best Alternative at the MTV VMAs and appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Sombre entered 2026 with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and an emotional performance on air. And “Saturday Night Live.” He has been nominated twice for Brit Awards (Best International Artist and Song), won three American Music Awards (Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist, Best Rock/Alternative Album and Song), and won four iHeart Awards (Alternative Artist and Album of the Year, Cutting Edge Pop and Alternative Song). “Homewrecker” was his first single since his critically acclaimed debut album, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 4 on the Hot 100, marking his highest first-week debut to date. His latest single, “My Body Isn’t Ready,” was his fifth entry on the Hot 100 and sixth entry on the Global 200.

Wizards’ first major role came during a standalone season 3 episode of Atlanta, written and directed by Donald Glover. He quickly followed that appearance with appearances on Hulu’s “Tell Me Lies” and Paramount+’s “The Game.” In the summer of 2025, he co-starred with Madeline Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Chase Sui Wonders, Camila Mendes, and Jonah Hauer-King in the legendary sequel, I Know What We Did Last Summer.

Shortly after, Withers headlined as an up-and-coming quarterback in Justin Tipping’s horror film Him, for which he was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards. He then made his romantic lead role co-starring Maika Monroe in the Colleen Hoover film Reminders of Him. The New Leading Actor Award will be presented at the event on August 5th.

Burton will receive the Rising Star Award. He co-stars with the Jonas Brothers in Disney’s long-awaited “Camp Rock 3,” which opens on August 13th. This fall, he will also star in the upcoming Disney+ original paranormal series Coven Academy. Later this year, Burton will showcase her talents as both a singer and a dancer as she headlines the Worlds Collide Tour, performing at 49 arenas in the US, Canada and Mexico, followed by 11 shows in the UK and Europe. In 2027, he will reprise his role as fan favorite Victor in Zombies 5: Secret of the Sea.

Burton began her career at the age of six on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, and went on to co-star with Jenna Ortega and Ariana Greenblatt on Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle. He has also appeared in several Disney Channel original films, including Under Wraps 1&2 and Zombies 4: Rise of the Vampires, which broke franchise records and became Disney Channel’s most-watched original films since 2020.

The party will highlight this year’s Young Hollywood Impact Report, which features outstanding young talent in acting, music and content creation, as well as the New Leaders List, which celebrates up-and-coming professionals in entertainment.
