Vicki Gunvalson thinks the women on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island are “very aggressive.”
While chatting exclusively with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” icon opened up about the first time she met the Rhode Island “housewife.”
“I didn’t even know who they were,” Gunvalson admitted. “I was like, ‘Hello, goodbye. You guys are all fighting. I’m not going to go near that.'”
She added: “They’re very aggressive.”
Gunvalson, 64, met the new reality stars while filming “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Dorinda Medley’s Bluestone Manor in February for “Real Housewives of New York City’s Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.” The show celebrates the 20th anniversary of “Real Housewives” with a cross-continental trip featuring 82 different “Housewives.”
Gunvalson said that despite being at Medley’s New England mansion, the cast of Bravo’s latest series, “Housewives,” had little in the way of good vibes.
“‘There are no cameras here. What are you all doing? Shut up. This is my show. We’re here for season 20, ‘The Ultimate Girls’ Trip,'” she recalled. “It was just awkward.”
Just looking at the trailer for “RHUGT,” it appears that “Real Housewives of Rhode Island” stars Kelsey Swanson and Rosie DiMare are engaged in a heated argument.
Swanson, 32, and DeMare, 35, didn’t get along on the first season of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.”
Amid a disagreement over the square footage of DiMare’s home, the former news anchor infamously called Swanson a “slumpig,” one of Bravo’s most memorable insults since James Kennedy called Tom Sandoval a “mustachioed bug” on “Vanderpump Rules.”
Drama aside, “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” had impressive ratings when it first aired in April. According to Deadline , the show has already been renewed for season two and currently holds the record for Bravo’s biggest multiplatform series premiere since 2024.
But to keep the momentum going, Gunvalson urged women to “calm down,” although she admits she only watches “a little” of RHORI because it’s “scary.”
“Be authentic,” she said. “Would you do this in real life? Because if you wouldn’t do this in real life, why would you do it in front of a camera?”
That’s why we call her the “OG of OC.”
“Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls’ Trip: 20 Days of Bakusou” will be broadcast for the first time on August 9th at 9 pm (ET). New episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
