Colin Gosselin has fellow reality star Alexia Umansky in his corner ahead of releasing a bombshell memoir about his “dark” childhood with parents Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin.
On Friday, Colin posted a photo on Instagram of himself having dinner with Umansky in Los Angeles.
“Went for pasta 🍝 Stayed for some fun laughs and conversation. It was so much fun catching up with friends over dinner in LA!!” he wrote.
Umansky, the 30-year-old daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and real estate broker Mauricio Umansky, commented on the post: “Now I’m just moving to LA! 👯.”
The “Buying Beverly Hills” star posted an Instagram Story of himself with Colin Friday, sharing his support for his memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,” which will be published on Oct. 13.
“So proud of @collingosselin1 and everything he stands for,” she wrote with a heart emoji. “I’m proud to call him a friend.”
She then posted a photo of the cover of 22-year-old Collin’s book and wrote: “So many people have watched @collingosselin1 grow up…so many of you will want to hear his story. His book is available for pre-order.”
The Gosselins rose to fame on the TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which aired from 2007 to 2017. The show followed John and Kate and their sextuplets (Colin, Arden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah) and twins Carla and Madeline.
John, 49, and Kate, 51, divorced in 2009 after 10 years of marriage. In 2018, John gained sole custody of Colin.
Colin has accused Kate of “child abuse and child exploitation” for years, which Kate denies. Her lawyer told the US Sun in September 2024 that she did not believe Kate did anything to “deliberately harm” Colin, saying she “did everything to protect herself and her family” from her son’s “questionable behavior.”
According to the description of Colin’s book shared by the publisher, his memoir promises to reveal “the never-before-told story of how[Colin]escaped and found his way back from the darkness.”
His memoir details how he was “held captive in a basement where he hid for years and was forced to administer a cocktail of powerful antipsychotic drugs to an 11-year-old boy.”
Colin went on to publicly shoot at his mother ahead of the release of his book, and last month Kate called him “mentally ill”.
The mother of eight responded to a TikTok user who commented on a recent post that she empathizes with being “constantly disrespected and lied to” by “children who have come of age with a distorted version of their childhood.”
Kate replied, “Thank you! You understand. Sadly, only parents of mentally ill children can understand!”
