Jay-Z performed his 30th anniversary show/concert series at Yankee Stadium on Friday. His eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, made a surprise appearance at the show. Beyoncé also joined in to sing “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” originally sung by Mary J. Blige.
On Friday, Jay-Z performed at Yankee Stadium to kick off a concert series celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. During the opening show, he performed a rendition of “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” Fans were surprised when his wife Beyoncé suddenly appeared and sang some of the famous songs brought to life by Mary J. Blige.
At the end of the moment, Jay-Z told the audience, “Oh, she can sing.”
The Cowboy Carter singer then told the audience, “Give it up for my baby.”
But the family moment wasn’t over. Jay-Z then invited his 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, to participate in his song “Feelin’ It.” In X’s post, Blue Ivy can be heard performing the song’s piano solo.
When it was over, Jay-Z said, “Make some noise for the legendary Blue Ivy Carter.”
Although this is the young star’s first time performing in public, her proud father gushed about her talent to GQ in March.
“She won’t let us have teachers,” he said. “She doesn’t want to make it her career, but she has perfect pitch. When she hears a song, she thinks, ‘Let’s play it again,’ so she teaches herself.”
He continued, “That’s just talent. She’s not working on it. She’s worked on this, and I’m proud of her for fighting for what she really wanted to do. I don’t think we can take her off that stage now.”
Blue Ivy is also known as a talented dancer, first appearing on stage with her mother on Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023, and again on the Cowboy Carter World Tour in 2025.
