Police attendance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden will reportedly cost six figures.
Sources familiar with the situation said just over 130 police officers were attending as part of the couple’s special access event permit, with some working overtime.
Specifically, more than 70 detectives from the New York City Police Department will be in charge of the high-profile wedding, according to TMZ.
The newspaper claimed Tuesday that during an intimate rehearsal dinner on Thursday and a star-studded ceremony on Friday, the officers will work 8.5 hours at an hourly wage of $80 to $90.
In addition, NYPD leaders said more than 50 officers, described as “rookies on nine-hour shifts and earning $70 an hour,” will be on the scene.
TMZ estimates that a detective will cost a minimum of $95,200, with an additional $63,000 for a rookie, for a total of $158,200.
Top police officials are also expected to participate, which would cost a staggering $160,000.
Representatives for Swift, Kelsey and the NYPD did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Notably, the couple originally planned a June wedding in Rhode Island, but moved to a Big Apple wedding due to safety concerns.
Safety is “a major issue,” a source told Us Weekly on Sunday.
“Rhode Island didn’t fare much better because of the nature of the access and the boundaries were too difficult to secure,” officials explained over the weekend.
The outlet also claimed that “so many people wanted to come that we had to change our plans due to the scale of the event.”
We hear the event will be huge, with over 1,000 guests watching Kelce, 36, and Swift walk down the aisle.
Preparations have already begun, with Page Six confirming that the iconic venue will be decorated with gardens and a large castle.
Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will perform at their wedding, a source told Us over the weekend.
Swift and Kelsey have been dating since the summer of 2023 and got engaged in August of last year.
