Starz is developing a television series based on “The Bourne Parish,” based on the graphic novel by Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson set to executive produce.
The crime series is set in New Orleans and says, “The Winters family builds an empire around a powerful new drug made from the ashes of the dead that gives its users vivid, haunting visions of the past. But as demand soars, rival factions, deadly secrets, and supernatural forces loom, drawing them deeper into a violent and inescapable nightmare of crime, fear, and family legacy.”
In a statement, Jackson explained what drew him to the series: “I’ve always been drawn to unconventional stories, and The Bourne Parish does exactly that. It takes crime, family, and power and mixes it with the dark and supernatural. , it feels fresh. There’s incredible depth to this story as we explore what happens when the world of the living and the world of the dead intertwine, and we’re building a series that will hook viewers from the first episode.”
Diane Adem-John and Declan de Barra, known for their work on Dune: Prophecy and The Witcher: Blood Origin, are sharing the duties of showrunner and executive producer. Jackson will serve as an executive producer through his G-Unit Film & Television banner, expanding on the cast’s long-standing relationship with Starz following his work on “Power: Origins,” the recently greenlit “Power: Legacy,” and the new boxing crime drama “Fightland,” which is set to be released July 31 on Starz.
Diane and Declan are repped by CAA, Jackoway Austin and Atlas Literary.
