Kevin McKidd is the latest actor to star in the Hulu courtroom drama “Conviction,” starring Elisabeth Moss.
The series follows confident lawyer Neve Harper (Moss) as she finally takes on a career case: a high-profile murder case in which a husband is accused of setting his wife on fire and killing her. According to the logline, “But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to violate every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to gain innocence or risk her dark secret being exposed.”
McKidd’s role has not been revealed, but she joins a cast that also includes Linda Emond, Jimmi Simpson, Sebastian de Sousa, Adam Godley, Zainab Jah, Ashley Zukerman, and Jose Zuniga.
“Conviction,” based on the novel of the same name by Jack Jordan, was greenlit on Hulu in February. The showrunner is David Shore (House, The Good Doctor), who will executive produce alongside Moss and Lindsay McManus under Moss’ Love & Squalor Pictures banner, as well as Jordan. Warren Littlefield, Ann Johnson, and Lisa Harrison of Littlefield; Bart Salke of Co-Lab21. and Erin Gunn of Shore Z Productions.
McKidd is best known for his role on Grey’s Anatomy and recently ended his 18-year acting career as Owen Hunt. He also starred opposite Ewan McGregor in Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, and his credits include HBO’s Rome, NBC’s Journeyman, Pixar’s animated film Brave, and the comedy-thriller Home Sweet Hell, starring Katherine Heigl and Patrick Wilson. McKidd is also the founder of Ferryman Films, a production company that champions original storytelling tied to McKidd’s Scottish heritage.
McKidd is repped by WME and Independent Talent Group.
