Corey Feldman assured fans that he is actually fine and that it was all a “misdiagnosis” after a frightening in-flight health emergency that was widely reported in the media.
Feldman appeared to be in good health Wednesday night, sharing a video of himself on Instagram discussing a “brand new rocker” song he is currently working on, apparently in a recording studio.
He wrote in all caps as the post’s caption: “After that big health scare, I wanted two touch bases and let everyone know I’m alive and well!”
“It was so scary because the doctor misdiagnosed me and then someone from the medical staff 1 leaked the misdiagnosis 2 to the media in real time based on preliminary blood test results!” he added.
“But thank God, it was just food poisoning,” the 54-year-old actor clarified. “It’s okay. Come on, back 2 rock and roll…”
TMZ first reported that the “Goonies” star was rushed to the hospital Monday afternoon after his flight from Chicago to Los Angeles landed at LAX.
A source close to Feldman told the publication that the ’80s teen star felt unwell on the plane and was examined by a fellow passenger, who happened to be a doctor.
Feldman was in Chicago for the release of his movie “Stand by Me,” and co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton were also in attendance on Sunday.
Later that night, Feldman shared photos and videos on Instagram of himself on the merry-go-round heading to Chicago for the event. He made a surprise visit to Michael Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana, to “pay his respects” to the late singer.
As for new music currently in the works, Feldman is scheduled to release a new single titled “What Am I Here 4” on June 22nd. His new social media post appears to be a preview for fans.
“Painful timing, huh?” he wrote in the caption.
He said in the video, “I don’t even know what it’s called yet, it’s so new. But I like it, we like it too, and we’re all digging it, it’s very cool, I think you’ll dig it too.”
Footage uploaded to social media on Wednesday shows Feldman playing drums on a new song in the studio while his bandmates work on the track behind a microphone in a recording booth.
