Months before her shocking divorce filing, Bunny Zoe revealed in an interview that she and now estranged husband Jelly Rolle were trying to have a baby after undergoing “extreme” in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The Dumb Blonde podcast host recalled several painful abortion experiences in her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetically published in February, including one at age 16 when her doctor claimed she had “messed up something” and two ectopic pregnancies.
“Having an abortion when I was younger and the journey I’m on now with IVF, I really feel like God is allowing me to go through this again so that I can be an advocate for other women who are going through this process,” Bunny (real name Alisa Deford) told People magazine in January ahead of the book’s release.
“And it’s one of the most difficult things I’ve ever gone through,” she continued. “It’s been hard. It hasn’t been easy, but I know God has a plan and He’s going to carry it out. I really do. There’s no doubt in my mind.”
Bunny, 46, writes in her book that after overcoming a traumatic pregnancy experience that “almost killed me,” she and Jelly Roll, 41, began their IVF journey in 2019 and finally found a surrogate to carry their baby.
“After the last 10 years of healing together, we are finally financially and somewhat mentally stable and are talking about our future, including growing our family,” she wrote. “J and I have a surrogate mother. She is the kindest woman ever. We plan to start IVF soon.”
“We decided to use J’s sperm and my own eggs, and we are trying to have twins,” she continued. “I’m so nervous because I’ve been waiting so long to have a child with someone who I thought would be a great father and to make sure they had the best life possible.”
“We are going to raise these babies with love and give them everything we were not given,” Bunny added. “I can’t wait to see parts of me and him running around outside of my body.”
“There was no other option but IVF,” the former sex worker explained. “I know my mental health couldn’t withstand the hormonal changes. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.”
During their relationship, Bunny acted as a stepmother to Jelly Roll’s two children, daughter Bailey Ann (18 years old) and son Noah Buddy (9 years old).
On Monday, news broke that Bunny’s husband, Jerry Rohr, filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, after nearly 10 years of marriage.
According to court documents, he cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup.
Just recently, a moving truck was spotted outside an apartment complex in Tennessee. At this time, it is unclear whose items were being removed from the couple’s home.
Bunny has shared some cryptic posts on social media in recent weeks, including one about “bringing back the spark,” one about “female intuition” and another slamming her “trash” ex-girlfriend.
