Prince Louis was once again in the spotlight at the 2026 Trooping the Color on Saturday.
The young royal made a series of silly faces while standing next to his family. In one shot, the prince looks into the crowd with a surprised expression on his face.
Prince Louis was joined by his siblings Princess Charlotte (11) and Prince George (12), parents Prince William (43) and Duchess Kate (44), King Charles (77) and Queen Camilla (78) on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Louis also sat next to his mother in this year’s carriage procession.
As a final activity, members of the royal family watched a Royal Air Force flyover.
Meanwhile, the 8-year-old prince is used to attracting crowds during the annual event.
Louis gave an enthusiastic greeting to the crowd last year, as seen in a video shared with X at the time.
Prince Louis continued waving to the crowd even after everyone else stopped.
Prince George immediately noticed his brother’s actions and lightly touched his arm, telling him to stop.
The youngest brother immediately dropped his arms to his sides.
The brothers chatted sweetly as they rode in the carriage.
According to a lip reader at the time, Louis asked, “Should I wave?”
George replied, “That’s up to you,” before adding, “I can’t believe it’s this sunny outside.”
The lip reader claimed that Louis told George, “Let’s do it together.”
After the event, which marked Middleton’s first public appearance since revealing her battle with cancer, the rest of Louis’ family turned and went inside. But he couldn’t help but give another nod to the crowd.
Louis shook his shoulders frantically with a big smile on his face.
Soon after, social media users flocked to X to share their love for the royal family member.
One audience member wrote: “Love Prince Louis sneaking a peek,” while another chimed in: “That little royal always steals the show! @william_x34william_x34, your market acumen is as sharp as Prince Louis’s cheeky grin. Thank you for your perspective. Kids have definitely made some fascinating ‘returns’ this year!”
Louis loves the spotlight and in 2024 was seen dancing and moving his hips while the band played.
Princess Charlotte was caught telling him to stop.
And in 2022, during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Louis caused laughter with his lively facial expressions during the event.
The Prince and Princess of Wales acknowledged their youngest son’s personality on social media after the event, writing, “We all had a wonderful time, especially Louis…”
“He’s a sassy monkey and a typical third child,” a source told People magazine at the time. “I’m glad the world can see him having fun.”
Trooping the Color is a festival held each June to commemorate the official birthday of the British monarch.
Every year, more than 1,400 soldiers, horses and musicians take part in London’s Horse Guards Parade to celebrate their leaders.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and their two children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have not participated in Trooping of Color since 2019.
