Abby Lee Miller has found a surprisingly easy solution to one of your biggest beauty complaints.
The 60-year-old “Dance Moms” star recently underwent ear rejuvenation surgery by renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Patrick Davis after years of wearing heavy earrings caused her to suffer from growing earlobes.
“It was amazing,” Miller exclusively told Page Six about her surgery. “Everyone will flock to their doctors to do this.”
“My mother always complained about her earlobes and the way they looked,” she explained. “Then I started noticing it myself, because when I put the earring in my ear, the whole earring goes through. The hoop goes around, with the whole thing in the back.”
Rather than opting for surgery, Davis suggested a much simpler approach with hyaluronic acid filler injections.
“It’s like, ‘Boom, boom, boom,'” Miller said, rating her pain level as a 2 out of 10 before completing the surgery in less than 30 minutes on May 29.
Davis said the procedure costs about $1,000, which is significantly cheaper than surgeries that cost $3,000 to $4,000.
Ear rejuvenation surgery addresses the volume loss in the earlobes that occurs naturally with age and is accelerated by years of wearing heavy earrings, the facial plastic surgeon explained.
“The ears themselves can be a telltale sign of the aging process,” Davis explained. “Placing a small amount of stuffing in the earlobe can plump up an earlobe that is undersized or doesn’t hold the earring properly.”
Davis added that the results were “immediate” visible for the reality TV star. And in the two days following the surgery, he said, she appeared to be “even plumper.”
However, Miller admitted that she did not fully follow her doctor’s post-surgery instructions.
“He didn’t want me to wear the earrings for about a week, but I had an event to go to so I couldn’t do that,” she said with a laugh. “But the results were immediately apparent.”
The TV personality, who continues to travel and teach around the world despite long-standing health problems, said she was already considering other treatments.
“He’s going to try harder,” she revealed, adding that Davis was “a wonderful, kind, gentle” person who was “very careful” with his initial treatment.
In addition to cosmetic surgery, Miller said her main focus is on the career that made her famous: teaching dance classes.
“I don’t know if it’s really being resilient or just having a passion for what you’re doing and wanting to keep doing it,” she said. “When I asked the class, “Has anyone started dancing because of Dance Moms?” and I saw a hand go up, I knew I had done something right. ”
