Rizzo has that pitch 100%. The singer is pushing his new album around town.
On Thursday, while Madonna was performing for the gay Grindle in Times Square, Lizzo was hitting up bars in the famous gay bar areas of Hell’s Kitchen and the West Village to promote her new album, “Bitch.”
The singer reportedly stopped by gay bar Hardware and bought drinks for the entire bar. And after getting the Rainbow crowd drunk there, she headed back downtown to Pieces Bar.
At Pieces, we checked out a show by legendary New York drag queen Shekida, where we also bought everyone drinks. Lizzo also performed two songs and “performed with the queens.” “She sang live,” a spy told Page Six.
“Everyone was so excited and surprised to see her,” they added. The bubbly singer “made it rain cash on Shekida,” the source added. Patrons then followed her around the corner on Gay Street for a photo shoot.
Lizzo’s street marketing campaign didn’t stop at gay bars. The singer posted a video projecting the album’s title and release date onto a SoHo building from West Houston Street. “The album just dropped and I don’t think the poster is big enough,” she said.
Lizzo kept her promotions bright, performing early Friday morning as part of the “Today” show’s summer concert series. But it wasn’t all self-promotion for the “Truth Hurts” singer. She took time later that day at an album signing at Rough Trade in Rockefeller Center to cover Janet Settembre’s debut novel, “Little Red Flags,” for the Post.
She exclaimed “sex, crime and passion” and recommended the book to her 11 million followers as a spicy summer read.
Turns out Lizzo really was that bitch 100 percent!
