Madonna hasn’t lost her ability to shock.
The icon surprised New Yorkers Thursday night with a surprise concert in Times Square.
The 67-year-old singer, who is promoting his new album Confessions II, performed for 15 minutes. The pop-up concert also celebrated the beginning of Pride Month.
Madonna wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana look consisting of a lace-trimmed pink chiffon teddy, a satin waist cincher, a blue satin balconette bra, sheer tulle thigh-high stockings layered with pink tulle opera gloves and lace fingerless gloves.
Silver lace-up knee boots and a sparkling Swarovski crystal necklace completed her stage ensemble.
Fans posted videos of the show on social media, which drew large crowds. Although the concert was relatively short, the performance included dancers, a DJ, and a revolving stage, and did not skimp on theatrical elements.
Her setlist included her hits “Hung Up” and the fitting “I Love New York,” both from her 2005 album “Confessions on a Dance Floor.”
The concert was organized by Grindr. Madonna is working closely with the dating app for the release of her new album. As we reported, she released a video through the platform last week in which she was interviewed by friends, including drag queen Bob and playwright Jeremy O’Harris. During the event, she made a shocking statement. The best sex of my life was with John F. Kennedy Jr.
Confessions II, the sequel to Confessions on a Dance Floor, was released on Wednesday. “Confessions Il is a love letter to dance music and all the spaces and communities that create and enjoy it,” Madonna told fans last month about her new album.
“A dance floor is not a specific space or building, but a place where we come together to dance, celebrate, and connect,” she continued. “Thank you for joining me in this moment and supporting my music.
See you on the dance floor! ”
Madonna also wished her fans a happy Pride month on Monday, posting a video of herself smoking.
“There’s nothing like a mother’s love…Happy Pride Month 🏳️🌈,” she wrote. “see you soon!”
Madonna is busy promoting her new album with big performances. In April, Sabrina Carpenter brought her to two Coachella performances over the weekend as a special guest. It’s been 20 years since Madonna herself headlined the 2006 California Festival.
She will also headline the first-ever halftime show with Shakira and BTS at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 19 at New York-New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
