Denise Richards supports her love of leather.
She raised eyebrows after choosing a black leather skirt for a court appearance in February, but recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts and react to the choice.
Months later, the 55-year-old shared a “Get Ready With Me” video on social media, detailing the process that led her to meet her estranged husband Aaron Phypers.
she said, laughing while wearing a bathrobe. “It’s four in the morning…don’t you think I’m lovely?”
“Thinking about what to wear to court is very… not easy,” she said, acknowledging the intense scrutiny the incident has caused.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star added that pomp and wardrobe were important on the day, “because the person I’m divorcing likes to make sure the press is there.”
But, “Believe it or not, I don’t own many suits,” she jokes.
Richards wore a black long-sleeve bodysuit and a black leather Gucci pencil skirt, sharing, “I know some people have commented before that I wore leather, but I love this little leather Gucci skirt. It’s a pencil skirt, so it’s modest.”
Fans were cheering in the comments section. “Denise, you look amazing! 🔥❤️ You step into court like a queen 👸🏻 You’re wearing that hot leather skirt because you’re the boss,” one person said.
Another person wrote: “Even if you just go to court with no make-up and a bathrobe on, you still look amazing!!!”
Back in April, as the estranged couple’s legal battle dragged on, a California state court judge ruled that the Creditor Adjustment Authority had no legal authority to go after Richards’ “wages and other assets” to pay off Fipers’ debts.
Phypers filed for divorce from Richards last summer, and the reality star subsequently filed for a permanent restraining order, citing abuse during their marriage, which Phypers denies.
