Laura Crery has revealed terrifying new details about how a near-fatal freak accident resulted in her being crushed by a 600-pound home refrigerator.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the comedian explained that the stainless steel fridge was “not properly attached to the wall” and his 7-year-old son Alfie, who has autism, pulled it forward when he climbed into it.
When the actress tried to push the device back, it fell over and “completely crushed” her.
“I almost died,” Ms Clery wrote, noting that the French door fridge also “definitely could have killed” Alfie.
Mr Clery said he wanted to “sue the contractor” who installed the refrigerator, adding: “That can’t happen. This is negligence.”
The YouTuber’s post included a photo of her in an ambulance after the incident, wearing a neck brace and receiving oxygen.
In an Instagram upload on Thursday, Clery told her followers that being pinned to the refrigerator was “the scariest night of (her) life as a single mother.”
Alfie’s five-year-old daughter Poppy, who she shares with ex-husband Stephen Hilton, revealed that she was in agony as she “couldn’t move” and “couldn’t breathe” as she watched the crisis unfold.
Ms Clery admitted she didn’t think she would survive at this point.
However, she was able to call 911 using the cell phone she had in her pocket, and multiple firefighters then arrived and pulled the refrigerator away.
Clery also shared a video of herself running into an ambulance after being told by a paramedic that she was heading to a “trauma centre.”
Then she moaned in pain and said, “Fuck, it hurts, it hurts.”
Hilton also mentioned the incident in a Substack essay on Thursday, revealing that his ex-wife sent him a message saying “come now” while pinned down.
“Then I got a call from Laura who was hyperventilating, panicking, barely able to speak and gasping for breath,” Hilton recalled, adding that her ex-spouse repeatedly asked for “help” over the phone.
When Mr Hilton arrived at the scene, he was “stunned” to see seven firefighters and two paramedics helping Mr Clery.
Mr Hilton said the people working on the fridge recently failed to replace all the screws, causing the fridge to tip over while Alfie was standing on top of it.
“We’re going to find those responsible,” he declared.
