Kendra Duggar reportedly “isolated” her parents after her husband Joseph Duggar was arrested on child molestation charges.
“Kendra has not been in contact with her family,” a source told Us Weekly Tuesday.
The source also revealed that Kendra’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, and her eight siblings “have moved out of their home and all their belongings are in storage.”
“They’re still figuring out what their next steps are. It’s been a very stressful time, especially given the circumstances.”
Last month, Paul revealed that he and his family had set up a GoFundMe page to seek financial support after his son-in-law’s arrest, due to recent housing and job loss.
“Moving is always difficult, especially when you have a large family and are under stress,” the source continued. “They are considering moving out of state. Paul was forced to quit his job and is looking for work to support his family.”
A source claimed that the Caldwells “want to distance themselves from the Duggar’s as much as possible, but it hurts to be cut off by Kendra.” Before leaving the house, “the utilities were cut off and the family felt in danger.”
“More than anything, they want to feel safe and start over, and they want counseling to help them heal,” the source concluded.
Page Six has reached out to Kendra’s representatives for comment.
Joseph, 31, has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said in a March 18 statement that he was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct with a person over the age of 18.
Kendra, 27, was also arrested on child endangerment charges just two days later and released on $1,470 bail.
Joseph was charged with the same charges in addition to the original charges related to the sexual abuse case in Florida.
In Joseph and Kendra’s prison phone call, obtained exclusively by Page Six on April 9, Kendra opened up about the anxiety she felt amidst her legal troubles.
“One minute I could be okay and the next I could be completely beside myself,” she admitted.
The family broke their silence about Joseph’s “traumatic” arrest, expressing support for the alleged victim in an Instagram post last month.
“Our family is troubled and heartbroken by the alleged actions of our son-in-law,” the statement said. “We are in shock for this young girl, a girl who took courage on all sides to share her truth. We stand by her with both our support and prayers, and forevermore.”
“Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and hearts. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while retaining her own identity and joy.”
“At the same time, we recognize how traumatic this incident is for our grandchildren and continue to pray for their strength,” the Caldwells wrote. “Our love for them and our daughter Kendra remains the same.”
Joseph and his wife Kendra Caldwell have been married since 2017 and have son Garrett, 7, daughters Addison, 6, Brooklyn Plays, 5, and son Justus, 3.
