Chad Michael Murray will star in the new drama “Disconnecting Peter.”
The film centers on a broken family grappling with unresolved trauma from past tragedies. Peter Luck (Murray), a troubled husband and father, finds himself trapped in his own destructive habits that threaten to destroy his family’s bonds. His wife, Elizabeth, struggles to hold things together at all costs, while their daughter, Jenna, faces the derailment of her dreams of attending Juilliard. As tensions rise, the family must decide whether to face the pain or succumb to the chaos.
The project is written and directed by Christopher Beatty. Eddie Micallef and Benjamin J. Murray will produce “Disconnecting Peter.” Production is scheduled to begin in New Jersey in January 2027, and casting is currently underway. Stephanie Holbrook will serve as casting director.

Murray is known for the Netflix series “Sullivan’s Crossing,” as well as his recent work “Freaky Friday” and the Netflix romantic comedy “Merry Gentlemen.” He first became famous for “Gilmore Girls” and “One Tree Hill.” Other credits include the original “Freaky Friday,” “Fruitvale Station” and “A Cinderella Story.” Beatty previously wrote and directed the psychological thriller “Vivi,” starring Elizabeth Page and Tammy Blanchard, and produced “Chlorin,” starring Kyra Sedgwick and Vincent D’Onofrio.
