Nick Lachey revealed that he, his wife Vanessa Lachey, and their three children were seated near his ex-wife Jessica Simpson in first class during a six-hour flight to Hawaii in March.
Meanwhile, the children of Nick’s former “Newlyweds” co-stars flew economy, according to a member of 98 Degrees.
Nick explained on Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live” that Simpson was with his “ex-stepmother” Tina Ann Drew.
“Her kids and her, I don’t really know their status, but I think her husband was on the plane, but he wasn’t with us,” the “Perfect Match” host continued.
Host Andy Cohen then asked if Simpson and her estranged husband Eric Johnson’s young children – daughter Maxwell, 14, son Ace, 12, and daughter Birdie, 7 – were “in a different class of service.”
Nick admitted they were.
When news of Simpson, 52, and the fashion designer’s clash first broke, TMZ claimed that Simpson, 45, swapped seats with a passenger to get further away from her ex-girlfriend, 46.
Despite Cohen’s questions, Nick said the reunion was “strangely OK,” adding that it’s been “20 years” since the two got married.
“We hadn’t seen each other in 20 years, and then we spent six and a half hours together on a plane to Hawaii,” the musician mused, before quickly clarifying that he and Simpson were simply “in the same neighborhood.”
Nick said “everyone was very, very nice” and “very respectful.”
Representatives for Simpson did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Simpson and Nick married in 2002 and separated three years later. The two finalized their divorce in 2006.
Nick married Vanessa (45) in 2011 and the couple have son Camden (13), daughter Brooklyn (11) and son Phoenix (9).
Meanwhile, Simpson married Johnson in 2014 and announced their divorce in 2025.
