Try Guys’ outrageous cooking competition, “Phoning It In,” has assembled judges, cast members, and contestants for season four. The show will premiere in its fourth installment on independent streamer 2nd Try TV on May 6th, followed by YouTube from May 30th.
Chris Ying, Justin Pichetrungsi, Elizabeth Falkner, Jordan Myrick, Jimmy Wong, Jen Yee, Nick Schreiber, and Rie McClenny joined the series as judges. Melissa King and Kat Turner are the contestants.
The competition forces elite chefs to lock themselves out of the kitchen and instead coach unqualified comedians from afar, only over the phone, to help them realize their culinary visions. Chefs and judges already announced this season include Kristen Kish, Josh Scherer, Johnny Manganello, Mitzi Reyes, and Monique Chan.
Contestants include comedians Ash Perez, Ryan Garcia, Jared Popkin, Kwesi James, Ryan Graham, Joyce Louise Jean, and Laney Tolle from the TryCast universe. Previously announced contestants include Try Guy’s Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld, Miles Bonsignore and “Smosh’s” Angela Giarratana.
“We create the biggest cooking competition show on YouTube with some of the biggest chefs in the world, and it’s amazing how we step up our game each season,” Kornfeld and Herbersberger said in a statement.
After amassing a huge following on YouTube, the Try Guys launched their own paid streaming service in 2024 called 2nd Try. The ad-free service hit the market with other shows such as Trolley Problems, Escape from the Kitchen, Smoke Show, Eat the Menu, After the Menu and Without a Recipe.
