Elizabeth Hurley has more in common with Billy Ray Cyrus than meets the eye.
The actress gushed about her unexpected romance while chatting exclusively with Page Six at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s annual Hot Pink Party at the Glass House in New York City on Tuesday. When asked if she ever imagined herself falling in love with a country singer on a farm in Tennessee, she said it was not far from the ranch she owns in her native England.
Hurley, 60, said of Cyrus, 64, whom she has been dating since April last year: “I never saw it coming, but it’s funny because my farm in Tennessee is so similar to my farm in Gloucestershire, so in a way it feels normal.”
Hurley attended Tuesday’s BCRF event with his son Damien Hurley, 24. Their strikingly similar looks were undeniable, as seen in photos from the evening.
“Sure, he looks a lot like me, but he grew up to be that way. It’s funny, in his adolescence, he started to look like me, the Irish side of our family,” she said of her son, whom she shared with the late producer Steve Bing. “Before that, he was blonde and didn’t look like me at all.”
Harley and Bing dated for over a year in 2000. Other former lovers include Hugh Grant (with whom she dated from 1987 to 2000), businessman Arun Nayar (whom she married in 2007 and then divorced in 2011), and the late Australian cricketer Shane Warne, to whom she was engaged before they split in 2013.
Meanwhile, Cyrus was married to Tish Cyrus for over 28 years before splitting in 2022. They have five children, Brandi, Trace, Miley, Blazon, and Noah, and also have a son, Christopher, with ex Kristin Lackey. The country singer was also briefly married to singer Firerose. They said “I do” in October 2023 and separated in May 2024.
Tuesday’s event was undoubtedly meaningful for Hurley, who has been a global ambassador for the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign since 1996 and works closely with BCRF to raise awareness and funds.
In an interview with Page Six, the “Bedazzled” star also admitted that her ageless appearance is thanks to working with skin care companies for more than 30 years.
“I think when you work at a beauty company for a long time, you learn so much about taking care of your skin and of course how to apply makeup,” she explained.
“I also think that working closely with people who are in the health care business and in the cancer prevention business means I’ve learned a lot about self-care and taking care of myself, listening to them, eating as much as I can, and avoiding things that I’m told I should avoid. I think that’s a combination of things that have really had a positive impact on those around me.”
Hurley said working with BCRF for 31 years has been a great experience.
“Over the years, I’ve learned more and more, and I’ve been able to come into contact with people who have taught me a lot and discovered a lot,” she explained.
“Over the next few years I will continue to learn more and the great thing is that I can share that information with people through our media partners and events like this. It makes a lot of sense to use all the money we raise to spread the word about what our scientists are doing.”
BCRF’s Pink Pink Party raised more than $9 million to support breast cancer research this year.
