The final fan voting has begun for Survivor: In the Hands of the Fans.
During Wednesday’s penultimate episode of Season 50, CBS opened a poll for fans to choose their favorite contestant. The winner will be announced during a live finale event in Los Angeles on May 20th and will receive a $100,000 prize from pop star and Survivor superfan Sia.
The Thea Fan Favorite Award marks the return of the “Survivor” tradition. The series previously had an official fan favorite award, but it was discontinued after season 26. Shea then took it upon herself to reward her favorite players over several seasons. Since 2016, she has donated more than $1 million of her money to “Survivor” players. Sia stopped awarding cash prizes after Season 45, but brought it back for the memorable 50th season, recognizing celebrities who contributed in some way to the design of Season 50, along with Billie Eilish, Zac Brown, Jimmy Fallon, and Mr. Beast.
Voting for Thea Fan Favorite Award is now open and will close on May 20th at 12pm PT, the day of the Season 50 finale.
“Survivor: In the Hands of the Fans” will feature 24 returning castaways as they play for a $2 million prize and face plot twists and game elements determined by fan votes.
