Briana ‘Chickenfry’ LaPaglia has revealed that she had to undergo emergency surgery after a “giant cyst” twisted her organs.
The 26-year-old influencer opened up about her terrifying ordeal in a TikTok video on Monday, saying she underwent surgery on Sunday after experiencing excruciating pain and going to the emergency room.
LaPaglia said she and the man she was dating, whom she did not identify, hung out and ate Taco Bell on Saturday, and shortly afterward she started having stomach pains. She tried to fall asleep but woke up in the middle of the night with “excruciating pain.”
“I started vomiting and I was lying on the bathroom floor literally convulsing,” she recalled.
As the pain progressed to a “20 out of 10,” she asked the man she was with to take her to the emergency room, but the male doctor initially dismissed the pain as simply caused by eating fast food.
However, after undergoing a vaginal ultrasound, it was discovered that she had a large cyst on her ovary, which needed to be removed immediately.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, ovarian torsion occurs when the ovary is twisted by a large cyst. Twisting can cut off the blood supply to the affected ovary, causing sudden and severe abdominal pain, requiring emergency treatment.
LaPaglia was taken by ambulance and underwent emergency surgery at another hospital.
“I had half a liter of blood in my pelvic floor, and that’s essentially where all the pain was coming from,” she explained.
The podcaster said doctors drained all the blood and completely removed the cyst. She praised the all-female team that performed the surgery, calling them “villains.”
LaPaglia also revealed that the man she was “kind of dating” treated her incredibly well throughout her ordeal, even letting her stay in his house after she became “homeless” and was supposed to be moving into a new apartment the day she had surgery.
“This poor guy is an amazing guy and takes full care of me. I don’t know what I would have done without him. And now I’m just staying at his house. I feel so bad,” she told her followers while sitting on the couch.
“He sat with me in the ER, sat with me during surgery, waited for me, took me home. It was like he took care of me last night,” she added.
LaPaglia suffered a nasty public breakup from Zach Bryan in October 2024 after over a year of dating.
The 30-year-old country singer married Samantha Leonard in December 2025 after a whirlwind romance, but some have noted that Leonard looks a lot like LaPaglia.
