Peacock launches Bravo microdrama with Madison LeCroy and Georgia Gay

How can Bravo fans be drawn deeper into the Peacock app? NBCUniversal has a new short answer. Hoping to capitalize on the vertical video trend that’s been bouncing around social media, Bravo is preparing to launch its first “unscripted microdrama.”

This summer, Peacock will release two Bravo original unscripted microdramas. One is “Salon Confessionals with Madison LeCroy,” starring the breakout star of Bravo’s “Southern Charm,” and “Campus Confidential: Miami,” featuring Georgia Gay, the daughter of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay. These shows are part of NBCU’s series of updates.

Each show has approximately 60 episodes, each lasting between 60 and 90 seconds. And each micro-episode is designed to end on some sort of… micro-cliffhanger.

Peacock said the two series are the first original microdramas from a major U.S. entertainment streaming platform. Frances Berwick, chairman of Bravo and Peacock Unscripted at NBCU, sees this format as an important opportunity to not only serve current Bravo fans, but also attract new, younger viewers.

“One truism is that people want to watch different types of content in different ways,” Barwick says. “These new shows are shot vertically, are short, highly immersive, and just as addictive as Bravo shows.”

“Salon Confessionals” and “Campus Confidential” are scheduled to be released on Peacock in June or July, as NBCU hopes to draft a revival of “Love Island USA” (June 2). The show’s audience skews younger (50% under 30) and mobile video consumption is over-indexed.

In both shows, “the characters have ties that go back to the Bravo universe,” Barwick said. “They have the same tone and rhythm as the Bravo reality show: a humorous wink.” They are manufactured by Haymaker East, the company that developed Bravo’s “Southern Charm.”

According to Bravo, in “Salon Confessions,” LeCroy (pictured above) transforms a salon chair into “the ultimate confessional, where clients come seeking a makeover but end up revealing the most incredible stories of their lives.” “College Confidential” follows an “elite group” of college students, including George Gay, as they “survive friendships, relationships, Greek life, and social media scandals to prove that behind every yacht party and perfect post, there lies a more troubling reality,” according to the logline.

Berwick admits that the unscripted microdrama is highly experimental. What is attractive is that the ultra-short format series includes low-priced models. Additionally, she says microdramas can act as incubators. If the microdrama is a hit, Bravo might turn it into a full-fledged TV show.

To promote these, Peacock plans to launch a vertical video section on the home screen of its mobile app this summer. It revolves around Your Bravoverse, hosted by an AI-generated version of Andy Cohen that generates personalized playlists of swipeable video clips culled from over 5,000 hours of Bravo footage. Peacock features several sporting events in vertical video format, including live NBA games in April and some events from the Winter Olympics.

John Jerry, NBCUniversal Media Group’s senior vice president of product and user experience, global streaming, said Peacock has dabbled in vertical video longer than its competitors as it continues to find more ways for customers to engage with its content. “Vertical format is a great way for fans to access content on the go at any time of the day,” he says. “Entertainment is trending toward more readily available formats.”

Peacock was also at the forefront of announcing his true crime documentary, “The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers,” which is set to premiere this summer. And the third season of Love Island Games will begin in the fall of 2027, with Ariana Madix returning as host. In addition, Ciara Miller (Summer House) and media personality Teffi Pessoa will co-host this season of Love Island USA’s companion series Aftersun.

Peacock originals announced so far include a new season of the hit “Love Island USA” Season 8 (June 2), “Married at First Sight” Season 20 (Summer 2026) and “Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together” Season 2 (Fall 2026). Additionally, ‘The Traitors’ Season 6 is scheduled to launch early next year.

Here are details on the two microdramas and other announced Peacock shows.
