‘Storage Wars’ star Darrell Sheets’ ex-wife Kimber Wuerffel has paid tribute to the reality star nearly two weeks after his tragic death.
“I have no words until now,” she wrote on Instagram Thursday along with a slideshow of photos of them together. “Thank you for all the love, prayers and condolences. It means more to me than words can express.
“Darrell gave us so many laughs, connections, and moments of life. May the memories you have of him stay in your heart just as my memories will last forever.
“Our family would like to thank you all. Those who wish to attend the service will be notified at a later date.”
According to Us Weekly, the former couple divorced in 2016, but remained close after their split.
The reality TV star was found dead at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22nd. He passed away at the age of 67.
Sheets died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to a press release from the Lake Havasu Police Department.
Officials said Sheets was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was turned over to the Mohave County Coroner’s Office for “further investigation.”
After his death, several of his “Storage Wars” co-stars spoke out, addressing claims that former castmates had been cyberbullied in the period leading up to his suicide.
“Recently he was really, really tormented by this guy and was cyberbullying (him),” Rene Nejoda said in an Instagram video on Wednesday, shortly after the news broke.
“Darrell has posted a lot about a man who was cyberbullying and tormenting him. I sincerely hope (law enforcement) investigates that man, but that’s not a free pass,” he added.
Another Sheets cast member, Dave Hester, also said he was aware of “cyberbullying content” related to Sheets in his Instagram videos.
“I have that stuff turned off, so I don’t even know how it exists,” he said. “But I do know that it’s out there, and I hope that if it’s happening or does happen, it’s addressed the way it should be.”
Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, a spokesman for the Lake Havasu, Arizona, Police Department, told Page Six on April 22 that he was “aware of the cyberbullying allegations” and acknowledged that they were “part of an active investigation” into Sheets’ death.
In the years leading up to her death, Sheets opened up about her depression in heartbreaking social media posts in 2018.
Sheets appeared in 163 episodes of “Storage Wars” from 2010 to 2023, often co-starring with his son Brandon. Together they earned the nicknames “Gambler” and “Sidebet”.
After appearing on the A&E show, Sheets retired to Arizona.
