Britney Spears has returned home from rehab and is looking forward to a fresh start.
“She’s doing very well,” a source told Page Six on Thursday.
“She is healthy, happy, very positive and excited to start fresh. Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself.”
Spears, 44, completed treatment last night and is said to be “looking forward to a bright future” following her arrest for drink driving on March 4.
Another source said she will “continue counseling remotely.”
The “Toxic” songstress appeared to be under the influence of a cocktail of alcohol and drugs at the time of her arrest, and entered rehab for drug abuse on April 12.
Additionally, officers allegedly found an unknown substance in her car.
A source told Page Six that Spears chose to enter rehab independently and was “committed to working on her health.”
“This isn’t about one substance in particular, it’s about two things…This is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking time to focus on what’s important to her,” the source continued.
On Thursday, Spears was formally charged with misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The Grammy Award winner’s arraignment date is set for May 4, and if found guilty he could be sentenced to up to 12 months of probation.
In addition to paying mandatory fines and fees, you may also be required to take a drink-driving course.
However, because this is a misdemeanor, Spears does not have to appear in court.
Shortly after the charges were announced, the pop icon was photographed for the first time since completing medical treatment in the passenger seat of a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon on Thursday.
Spears looked relaxed with her feet on the dashboard as the driver took her around Calabasas and Westlake Village.
