In a since-deleted post, a person originally accused Meghan Markle’s former best friend Jessica Mulroney of stealing her phone after she was allegedly hit by a parked car. Mulroney then reportedly agreed and offered to pay for all damage to the vehicle.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. She reached out and thankfully my car will be covered and fixed 🥹🫶🏾,” car owner Eboni Morgan wrote in a thread Wednesday.
In a message on a now-deleted thread on Tuesday, Morgan claimed Mulroney “hit” her car and initially “refused to take responsibility.” (The post was deleted after Mulroney reportedly contacted Morgan to resolve the issue.)
“I refuse to let this woman bully me and make me pay for the damage to my parked car. That’s right…she did this to my parked car,” the woman added.
“I already reported it to the collision center, but without the plate it’s useless. If anyone can help, please DM me. If you don’t hear anything… TIKTOK is here 🤸🏾♀️”
The social media user also posted images of the damage to the blue car.
“Imagine @jessicamulroney leaving his number in your car after crashing into your car (about $4,000 worth of damage by the way) and then avoiding all your messages and calls. Guys, you can’t make this up,” the woman claimed.
A user in the same thread also attached a photo of a note Mulroney allegedly left at the scene, which read, “I’m so sorry, please call me.”
In the screenshot, Morgan attempts to send a text message to Mulroney, and Mulroney reads the first message.
“I texted her before I knew it was her (her resume is on WhatsApp) and she’s been ghosting me ever since she read my first text,” she claimed. (Mr. Mulroney reportedly responded later.)
Morgan also said she had contacted the police.
Page Six reached out to Mulroney’s representative for comment, who said, “Jessica spoke directly with this person and the matter has been resolved. The post has been removed.”
The 46-year-old fashion stylist has been involved in several scandals over the years.
In June 2020, Canadian lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter criticized Mulroney’s “textbook white privilege.”
Mr Exeter claimed that Mr Mulroney “became angry” when he urged his followers to speak out about the Black Lives Matter movement, “mistakenly assumed” that the urging was directed specifically at him, and displayed “highly problematic behavior” that ultimately led to the written threat.
Ms Exeter said she found Mulroney’s silence on social media on issues of racial injustice puzzling, given her close friendship with Ms Markle, 44, who is “probably one of the most famous black women in the world”.
Mulroney initially threatened to sue Exeter for defamation, but the marketing consultant later apologized and promised to “do better” and “pass the microphone to black voices.”
The scandal caused a rift between the Duchess of Sussex and Mulroney, with her reportedly feeling “abandoned” by her best friend.
