The final season’s logline reads, “As The Chi enters its eighth and final season, facing the coldest winter in history, it must make a life-or-death choice. The question is, who will choose it? Everything collides in the biggest and most emotionally captivating way in The Chi history this season.”
Lena Waithe created the series and serves as executive producer under her Hillman Grad banner. Originally a Showtime series, “The Chi” is one of the longest-running shows in the now-defunct network’s history. The show joins shows such as “Dexter,” “Homeland” and “Weeds,” which aired for eight seasons on the premium cable car. Only “Shameless” ran longer, with the show ending in 2021 after 11 seasons.
