Dave Grohl has opened up about how he’s been with his wife Jordyn Blum and their three children, a year and a half after having a child with another woman.
“The first thing I do when I get home from tour is cook for my family,” the Foo Fighters frontman, who shares daughters Violet May, 20, Harper Willow, 17, and Ophelia Saint, 11, with Blum, said on Wednesday’s The Dish podcast.
“Whether I’m making a roast on the weekend or making pasta, I always bring comfort,” he added. “It’s like coming home and giving comfort to my kids.”
Grohl had to fight to keep his family together after announcing he was expecting his fourth child with a woman who is not his wife.
“I recently became a father to a daughter born out of wedlock,” he wrote on Instagram in September 2024.
“I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything in my power to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he added.
In February 2025, Page Six exclusively confirmed that Jennifer Young is the mother of Grohl’s fourth child.
Young and the baby girl (who declined to be named due to “really angry fans”) were living in Los Angeles with her mother.
Sources say the incident was truly “horrible” for Blum. At some point, she stopped wearing her wedding ring.
However, last March, a source told Us Weekly that the 49-year-old actress had decided to give her marriage another chance.
“Jordyn has forgiven Dave and is trying to move on,” a source told the publication.
“She (still) is completely devastated by the situation, but she stood by him.”
The source added that Grohl and Blum, who married in 2003, are “going to counseling,” and that the rock star “has been doing everything he can to regain Jordyn’s trust.”
“Neither of them wants their family to fall apart,” the source added.
