The new “Scary Movie” pulls no punches when it comes to celebrity jokes, with Michael Jackson in its sights for some new promotional material.
The series’ Ghostface-inspired killer is dressed like Jackson in the just-released poster, a direct parody of “Michael’s” promotional material. But in this case, the two taglines are “Get ready to hee hee” and “Touch fans everywhere,” the latter a reference to the child abuse allegations that have followed Jackson for years.
The biopic “Michael,” released in theaters Friday from Lionsgate Films, does not explore any of the allegations.
According to a recent New York Magazine feature on Michael director Antoine Fuqua, the director “is not convinced that Jackson did what he is accused of, despite the number of accusers (five) and the fact that Jackson has publicly talked about sharing beds with boys.”
Scary Movie 6 will feature the return of many of the central characters from the first two films, including Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks, Sean Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, and Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks. The Wayans brothers also returned to write and produce this film after taking a break from the final three chapters.
The Scary Movie team also released a short teaser trailer on April 22, starring Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson as a very clumsy version of the King of Pop.
“Scary Movie” will be released in theaters by Paramount Pictures on June 5th.
