“Hollywood is a globally recognized brand synonymous with creativity, influence and cultural impact. It’s also a community of families, small businesses and neighborhoods,” Frierson said. “I am honored to lead the Chamber and work with Dan, the Board, staff, and our amazing members to advance a bold agenda that expands opportunity, strengthens our economy, and delivers lasting value for businesses, communities, and visitors alike.”
Frierson will succeed Stephen Nissen, who has served as the chamber’s CEO for the past three years. Mr. Frierson has worked for Amazon for the past several years as West Coast Economic Development Director. He also worked as the director of economic policy at Los Angeles City Hall during Eric Garcetti’s tenure as mayor.
Haldane has spent the past 13 years working in a variety of roles for the City of Los Angeles and former Los Angeles City Council members Tom LaBonge and Mitch O’Farrell.
“We are excited to partner with Ron and the Chamber team to deliver impactful programs, deliver exceptional value to our members and enhance the Hollywood experience for everyone,” said Haldane. “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce supports local businesses, advocates for economic development, and plays a critical role in maintaining Hollywood’s status as a premier destination for entertainment, tourism, commerce and more.”
Jerry Newman, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, welcomed the appointment of two experienced civilian veterans.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Ron become the face of the Chamber and an ambassador for our community and industry. He will take the Hollywood Chamber to unprecedented levels. Dan represents a powerful combination of vision and operational excellence,” said Newman. “Their leadership, along with Dan, will not only build on the work we have accomplished to date, but also drive innovation and growth for our members and the broader Hollywood community.”
