The Critics’ Choice Awards has set the date for its 32nd annual awards ceremony for Sunday, January 3, 2027, and has signed a two-year renewal agreement with Versant, extending its broadcast partnership through 2028.
The ceremony will return to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica for the third year in a row and will be broadcast live from across the country on E!. Also on USA Network. The CCA Awards will maintain a combined film and television format, honoring achievements across film releases, television and streaming programming.
“We’re thrilled that the Critics’ Choice Awards will once again begin awards season at the beginning of the new year,” said Joey Berlin, CEO of CCA. “Following our last show’s doubling in ratings, we’re excited to partner with the incredible teams at E! and USA Network to continue that momentum through 2028.”
“What a great way to start a new year! We continue our relationship with the Critics’ Choice Awards as we enter awards season on E! and USA Network,” Versant president of entertainment Val Borland said in a statement. “We are proud to bring this iconic event to our viewers and celebrate this year’s standout moments in entertainment.”
Nominations for the 32nd annual ceremony will be announced on Friday, December 4, 2026.
The Critics’ Choice Awards are awarded annually to honor the best achievements in film and television, and have historically served as a leading predictor of Academy Award nominations. Last year, the organization awarded Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” its top awards for Best Picture and Best Director, and two of the four actors selected, “Hamnet” star Jessie Buckley (Best Actress) and Amy Madigan (Best Supporting Actress), won Oscars.
The telecast will once again be executive produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment, with Dan Black of Greenberg Traurig LLP representing the award.
