Saturday’s “SNL UK” host Jack Whitehall devoted much of his monologue to gags about his upcoming wedding next week.
The British comedian and actor, who recently appeared in the Peacock comedy-drama The Barbs, claimed his marriage to model Roxy Horner was “out of control” in terms of how much it cost.
“Flowers, canapés, band…we just booked Scott Mills to be our wedding DJ. We can’t see that deposit anymore,” he said.
Mr Mills, one of the BBC’s best-known DJs, was sacked earlier this month following allegations about his personal conduct, and it subsequently emerged that he had been questioned by the Metropolitan Police in 2018 in connection with an alleged sex offense against a teenage boy.
Whitehall then attacked Prince Andrew, claiming his big day was “literally like planning a royal wedding in that if your uncle showed up it could ruin everything”.
Staying on topic, he shifted the topic to the Middle East, joking that he had managed to save money on his honeymoon and that he had “made an incredible deal to spend two weeks sailing down the Strait of Hormuz on a narrow boat, with free fireworks every night.”
Whitehall ended her monologue by claiming that the night she hosted “SNL UK” was the same night her fiancé took part in her sex. “So I’m here gagging with you guys and she’s currently getting a dry hump from one of Magic Mike’s in Soho.”
Whitehall will be hosting ‘SNL UK’ for the fourth time and the last before the show takes a week-long hiatus before the first series returns on April 25.
