Jimmy Kimmel is calling BS regarding Melania Trump denying having an affair with Jeffrey Epstein. The first lady gave a surprise speech at the White House on April 9, apparently blindsiding her husband Donald and other White House officials, declaring that she was “never friends with Epstein.”
“I had no knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims,” Melania told reporters. “I have never been involved in any capacity. I have never been a participant, never been on Epstein’s plane or visited his private island. I have never been friends with Epstein. Overlapping social circles in New York City and Palm Beach were common, so Donald and I were sometimes invited to the same parties as Epstein.”
She then added, “Many false images and statements about Epstein and me have been circulating on social media for years. Be careful what you believe. These images and stories are completely false.”
Not so fast, according to Kimmel. During a monologue on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on April 9, the late-night host aired the infamous and widely circulated photo of Donald and Melania posing with Epstein, saying, “By the way, how much do you think about Epstein? “While I’m explaining why I didn’t know, do you think there’s any particular reason why he had your picture hanging in his house? Maybe this was the picture that came with the frame, but I don’t know.”
“I, too, look at this and think, these two don’t know each other at all,” Kimmel quipped.
Donald Trump told MS Now after his wife’s speech that he did not know she had made such remarks beforehand. He also stressed that “she didn’t know[Epstein].”
“He didn’t know what she was going to do before she did it, which shows how smoothly things are going,” Kimmel said. “She must really hate him. I don’t know how else to explain it.”
Kimmel regularly bashes Donald Trump on his late-night show, but in recent months he has increasingly focused his anger on Melania Trump. The release of the Amazon documentary “Melania” in January particularly angered Kimmel. He denounced it as a “$75 million bribe” made for her by “Amazon,” and later called it “a horribly boring documentary. It’s all about Melania going to fittings, riding in cars, trying on clothes, and interviewing people who work for her.”
