Giving new meaning to “space cowboy.”
Kacey Musgraves saw three lights in the night sky during a recent flight from Fort Worth, Texas, to Nashville, Tennessee, in what she called “the craziest orb UFO experience.”
“As I was laying down to take a nap, an unusual light caught my eye,” she said on her Instagram Story on Friday.
The Grammy-winning country singer added that he observed the unexplained phenomena, which he first noticed over Little Rock, Arkansas, for “probably 45 minutes” and estimated they were “about 50,000 feet up.”
“These spheres weren’t moving like spaceships that we could control. They were moving back and forth intermittently, forming a triangular pattern,” she recalled. “Sometimes it would get very bright and change color or change size.”
“They have pivoted to suit us,” she added. “They were chasing the plane.”
After landing, the “Golden Hour” singer said both pilots told her they also saw the orb and that they were seeing it “every night.” They said other pilots around the country have also seen them, but “no one knows what they are.”
Musgraves, 37, said she had seen “a lot of crazy things” in her life, including “fires burning in the sky,” and said it was the latest in a long list of “strange and unexplainable” experiences, but she wasn’t too worried.
Even though she saw another sphere while filming these videos at home, she reasoned, “It’s weird, but I’m here for it.”
Musgraves shared footage of the sphere she saw during the flight, and later posted several videos to her Instagram Stories.
“It looks like it was shot in a toaster, but that’s the quality we’re working with. It was far away and it was night, so it was hard to focus,” she said of the video shot on an iPhone 17.
“The problem is, even if you take the best, highest quality footage of something, no one will believe you anyway,” she added. “Please stop being weird, everyone.”
While he’s not dabbling in a phenomenon that even Fox Mulder would approve of, Musgraves is preparing to release his seventh studio album.
“Middle of Nowhere,” which includes lead single “Dry Spell” and features a collaboration with Miranda Lambert after the country songstresses’ long-running feud, will be released on May 1st.
