At 61 years old, Paulina Porizkova looks and feels better than ever.
The day before her birthday, the supermodel posted a video of herself on Instagram wearing a red and white striped bikini from Lemlem, a brand founded by fellow catwalker Liya Kebede.
In her caption, Porizkova wrote on the eve of her birthday about how far she had come when it came to self-acceptance.
“I turn 61 tomorrow. I know this may sound crazy to you, but 40 years ago, when I was 21 and at the height of my career and as a supermodel, that was when I felt the most insecure. Part of the reason was because of the constant comparisons to other models by those who hired me,” she recalled.
“I never felt like I was good enough,” she added.
Porizkova said that at the time, her worth was tied only to her appearance.
“So today I’m going to put on this cute summer bikini and work out the muscles I’ve been working on to get rid of the cellulite on my butt. Not necessarily to look my best in this bikini, but to feel the best I’ve felt in the last 60 years,” she explained.
However, she admitted that she is working hard to achieve her healthy figure.
“Actually, who am I kidding? I’ve taken my training to the next level 10 notches this summer because I want to look my best, and I’m not necessarily wearing a bikini, and I’m not necessarily wearing a wedding dress,” she said before blowing a kiss to the camera.
Polizova was referring to her engagement to author Jeff Greenstein. He popped the question in July 2025 after two years of dating.
She was previously married to the late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The former couple married in 1989 and have two sons, Jonathan, 31, and Oliver, 27, but announced their separation in 2018 after 28 years of marriage.
Porizkova is often candid with fans about aging. Last month, she modeled pink lingerie while acknowledging the “smoke and mirrors” of social media.
“This is how you can instantly look better,” she writes about using filters. “The truth is, gravity takes its toll. But! Gravity also builds strength, so you can hold your head higher than ever before.”
She said, “Despite the obvious so-called flaws of age, I have never felt so sexy and at ease in my own skin.”
