“Malcolm in the Middle” is being rebooted nearly 20 years after its final season aired.
A four-episode revival titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” is now available to stream exclusively on Hulu.
The original series featured Malcolm, the genius middle child of a dysfunctional family.
According to Hulu, the reboot continues to portray Malcolm, who has been “protecting himself and his daughter from his family” for more than a decade, only to be “drawn back into Hal and Lois’ orbit when they demand he attend their 40th anniversary party.”
Frankie Muniz, who plays the titular Malcolm, returns to the series along with Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, who play Hal and Lois. In an exclusive interview with Page Six, Muniz called his return to Hollywood “surreal” and said he was “really proud to be an actor” while filming the reboot.
Muniz retired from acting in 2006 to pursue a career as a race car driver. He currently drives full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
