Saturday Night Live has announced a star-studded lineup for the final episode of season 51.
Olivia Rodrigo will serve as host and musical guest on May 2nd. The May 9th episode will be hosted by Matt Damon and will feature musical guest Noah Kahan. The season finale on May 16th will be headlined by host Will Ferrell and musical guest Paul McCartney.
Although Rodrigo will be making his debut as a host, he has previously appeared on SNL as a musical guest alongside host Keegan-Michael Key in 2021 and Adam Driver in 2023. Her episode comes ahead of the release of her third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, on June 12th. Rodrigo’s previous work includes the 2021 album “Sour”, which included the hit single “Driver’s License”, and the 2023 album “Guts”.
Damon is hosting SNL for the third time, having previously hosted SNL in 2002 and 2018, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in 2018. The actor, known for films such as “Good Will Hunting,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Bourne Identity” and its sequels, stars in Christopher Nolan’s new film “The Odyssey,” which opens on July 17th.
Noah Kahan will return to “SNL” as a musical guest for the second time, following a 2023 episode hosted by Emma Stone. The May 9th episode will air shortly after his fourth album, The Great Divide, is released on April 24th.
Ferrell was a cast member of “SNL” for seven seasons from 1995 to 2002, and returns to the late-night sketch show as host for the sixth time. He is best known for his work on “SNL” as well as comedies such as “Elf,” “Anchorman” and “Step Brothers.” Next, he will star in the Netflix comedy series “The Hawk,” which he also created.
This is McCartney’s fifth appearance in an “SNL” music video. He has made several cameo appearances on the show, and appeared in the show’s 40th and 50th anniversary specials. The Beatles icons will release their album ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ on May 29th.
