Cordelia Goode is back!
Ryan Murphy Productions has released new photos from American Horror Story Season 13, teasing Sarah Paulson’s return as the character in American Horror Story: Coven.
The caption reads, “@mssarahcatharinepaulson is back as Cordelia Goode. Rise of the Supreme. And yep, we’ve rebuilt the entire Robichaux Academy.”
As previously announced, Paulson joins Jessica Lange, who is returning to the series. The 13th season will see the addition of fellow AHS regulars Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman. Ariana Grande, who starred in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s 2015 series “Scream Queens,” will reunite with her co-creators on “AHS.”
This news confirms fan speculation that the reunion of so many past stars in Season 13 means a return to the storylines of previous seasons, particularly 2013’s Season 3, “Coven.”
Robichaud Academy was a key location in the series, an all-girls boarding school for magic where Paulson’s character served as principal.
Paulson previously said he would like to reprise the character in 2017. When asked at PaleyFest LA for FX’s “American Horror Story: Roanoke” what other “American Horror Story” roles Paulson would like to play again, he chose the character “The Coven.” She’s “probably Cordelia. We just got to see her get her powers,” Paulson said. “I just want to know if that power was something that changed her,” she added, “Maybe we can see that.”
