Blue Ivy Carter made a rare public appearance with her mother at a Secred event in Los Angeles last night. Blue matched Beyoncé and her grandmother Tina Knowles with white looks. Beyoncé recently talked about how her daughters helped develop new styling products for her hair care line.
After Blue Ivy Carter played a special role in the development of Beyoncé’s new Cécred styling products, the 14-year-old joined her mother and grandmother Tina Knowles at a brand event in Los Angeles last night. All three women wore white for the celebration, with Blue standing out in a strapless minidress with a large bow at the back.
Elizabeth Denton, the event’s content creator, shared footage of them together on stage.
Beyoncé recently gave an exclusive interview to Women’s Wear Daily, where she detailed how Blue and her sister Rumi were involved in creating the products. (The styling line includes flexible hair spray, volume mousse, strong hold gel, etc.)
“Many of these products were designed out of a desire to solve my own hair issues while on tour,” Beyoncé began. “I don’t use relaxers, so I’m very careful about protecting my hair from heat damage when I style it. The weather on tour is unpredictable. Some shows are in pouring rain, extreme humidity, and 100 degree weather. You’re drenched in sweat and you have to get through a three-hour show in that style. I haven’t been able to find a styler that allows me to perform at the level I need without affecting the health of my hair.”
“People think my fans on stage are just blowing for the drama and the hair, but the heat under the lights is real,” she continued. “You need a product that’s strong enough to maintain your style while remaining weightless enough to fly. It took years of trial and error to find the best formula. We’ve tested each of these and use it on our daughters before everything: blow-drying, silk-pressing, and braiding. We went all the way back to the 2024 Super Bowl to test my mousse, which was a huge hit in Texas.”
ELLE editors tested the line and it’s now available for purchase at Ulta.com.
Blue’s appearance last night was her first public appearance since the Super Bowl, which she attended with her father Jay-Z in February.
The rapper and entrepreneur recently praised his daughter’s talent, telling GQ, “Blue is a crazy pianist, but she won’t let us have a teacher. She doesn’t want to do it as a career. But she has perfect pitch. When she hears a song, she’s like, ‘Let’s play it again,’ and then she teaches herself.” That’s just talent, and she doesn’t work for that. I’m proud of her for taking this job (as a backup dancer on Beyoncé’s tour) and fighting for what she really wanted to do. I don’t think we can take her off that stage now.”
