Robert Cosby Jr.’s ex-wife Alexiana Smokov claims he “beat” her in newly released body camera footage from before his death.
According to footage obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, Smokov called the Salt Lake City Police Department on November 23, 2025 to report an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in May 2024.
“On May 18th, my estranged husband hit me,” she told responding officers while sitting in her car. “And I think it’s because he was abusing drugs and I flushed them.”
Smokov pulled out her cellphone and showed officers video of the incident, where she claimed Robert Jr. “threw things” at her and “chased” her.
“He locked me inside the house,” Smokov continued. “I was hit so hard that blood came out of my ear.”
Smokov also claimed that Robert Jr. and his mother, “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby, “didn’t let[her]leave the house” and did not seek medical attention at the time of the incident.
“I’m feeling a little stressed,” Smokov told the officer, according to body camera footage. “I have to see him again in court. And then (Robert Jr.) broke into my house. He broke my front window.”
Ms Smokov also acknowledged that she had a confidentiality order in place, but claimed that Robert Jr. “disregarded the law” and regularly ignored the order.
Robert Jr. had struggled with drug addiction for years before his death, and by the time Smokov interviewed police on November 23, 2025, he was incarcerated on separate assault charges.
As for Smokov’s claim that Robert Jr.’s Bravo star’s mother was “there” during the alleged May 2024 altercation, when Salt Lake City police approached Mary about their tumultuous relationship on January 9, 2026, Mary reportedly said that was not the case.
The 53-year-old reality star reportedly told officers she didn’t often see her late son and estranged wife fight, but admitted they had gotten into an argument.
Mary also reportedly told police that while she denied allegations that her son was violent, she did not know about any physical interaction between her son and Smokov.
Page Six has reached out to the Salt Lake City Police Department for comment.
Robert Jr. and Smokov secretly married in a Utah courthouse in August 2022.
Smokov filed for divorce in November 2025, after just three years of marriage, and the couple’s divorce was finalized in January.
Meanwhile, Robert Jr. was finally charged with two counts of domestic violence on February 5 of this year in connection with a May 2024 fight with Smokov.
However, following Robert Jr.’s tragic death on February 23rd at the age of 23, the charges were dismissed as the officer “responded to an overdose call.”
