Dan Levy told CBS Sunday Morning that he was considering a “Schitt’s Creek” sequel series before his co-star Catherine O’Hara passed away.
Mr. Levy was adamant that a sequel series was “not possible” now, but said before Mr. O’Hara’s death that he was “thinking about it.”
During the interview, Levy visited the Rose Apothecary store from “Schitt’s Creek.” Levy said she hasn’t been back on set since the show ended just before 2020.
“It’s hard, it’s hard to go back,” he said. “I didn’t expect such an emotional reaction,” he later added, “just so many memories, so many memories with Catherine. That’s what you have to hold on to, that’s all the memories.”
O’Hara died at her home in Los Angeles on January 30th after a short illness. She was 71 years old.
O’Hara led “Schitt’s Creek” as Moira Rose, a housewife who was scammed. She co-starred with Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, and Annie Murphy. The show follows a wealthy family who falls victim to a scam and is left penniless overnight.
“Schitt’s Creek” first aired on Canadian broadcaster CBC in 2015 and ran for six seasons until 2020. The show won nine Emmy Awards during its run, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2020 and Outstanding Lead Actress for O’Hara.
Highlights of O’Hara’s 50-year career in Hollywood include starring roles in films such as “Best in Show,” “Home Alone,” “Beetlejuice” and “After Hours.” She also appeared in television shows such as “The Studio,” “The Last of Us,” “Central Park,” and “The Last Kids on Earth.”
