Alec Baldwin’s 12-year-old daughter Carmen Baldwin has teased her famous father over their huge age gap with wife Hilaria Baldwin.
The “30 Rock” alum posted a video clip to Instagram Friday featuring herself and several of her children, in which she noted that it was her 68th birthday.
“I’m 68 years old. How wonderful to be 68,” he said. “My best birthday ever was 40. That was a while ago.”
When Carmen interjects, “That was a long time ago,” Baldwin laughs in shock.
“How long ago was that, Carmen?” the “Beetlejuice” actor asked, to which Carmen joked, “Hmm, so mom was 14?”
While the children held back their laughter, Alec silently stared at the camera with a stunned expression on his face. “God help me, this is elder abuse,” the Emmy winner joked in the caption.
In the comment thread, Alec’s eldest son, Ireland Basinger Baldwin, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger, responded with a series of laughing emojis.
Meanwhile, friend Jeremy Renner wrote, “Happy Birthday Alec. Blessings to you and your family ❤️.”
Celebrating his birthday, many fans cheered for him. “God bless you all, Alec! Thank you for giving us so much!!! Have a great Solar Return weekend! I love you 🥳🥂🎂,” one person said, while another said: “Happy birthday Alec. Carmen is so resourceful 😍❤️.”
“That’s A+ Liddy Donaghy energy 😂😂😂😂,” yet another joked, referring to the “30 Rock” character’s daughter.
Alec married a 42-year-old yoga instructor in 2012. They have since welcomed seven children together, including Carmen, Rafael (10), Leonardo (9), Romeo (7), Eduardo (5), Maria (4), and Ilaria (2).
Hilaria also opened up about her relationship with the actor, saying that before she met Alec, she was “judging” couples with a big age difference.
“Am I his mom? Sometimes I’m his mom. Sometimes,” she told Romper in a 2023 interview.
“At the beginning of our relationship, everyone thought, ‘She must have daddy issues because she’s married to someone older,'” she continued. “But in fact, the opposite is true.”
She also addressed their complicated dynamic in a November 2025 interview. “I don’t think age is just a number, at least in our situation,” she told Caroline Stanbury on Wednesday’s episode of the podcast “Uncut & Uncensored.”
“There are times when I have to look at him and say, ‘He’s got 26 more years of experience,'” she explained. “And sometimes that brings flexibility, and sometimes it just requires a little bit of therapy.”
