Jessica Simpson is trying to put to rest crazy rumors about her beauty routine.
The singer recently gave an interview to Elle in which he was asked about claims that he spent $1,000 a week on tanning “back in the day.”
“No, $1,000? Well, I’d rather lie in the sun,” she replied.
The rumors stem from a 2014 TVNZ report that claimed Simpson had a “million dollar beauty routine”.
The outlet claimed that Simpson lost $1,000 a week by going bronze, as well as indulging in things like $1,000 eyelash extensions, a $50,000 bust enlargement and a $230,000 on-call hairstyling team.
However, the songstress recalled that she had to work very hard to maintain her Daisy Duke glow while filming The Dukes of Hazzard.
“I had to get a tan, and I was nearly naked for the entire four-month shoot,” she told ELLE.
“Back then, the only way to be confident on a shoot was to spray on and do body makeup. But I also didn’t want it to look too orange, so I had to do a base tan. It was all thought out,” she added.
Simpson describes herself as a “born and raised Texas sun lover” and says that while “Pan was always tanned” as a child, she has changed her mind when it comes to solar health.
“Now my kids spray when they go to the park, and I spray myself all the time. I’ve definitely pivoted, not just because of aging, but because there are so many dangers.”
During her separation from husband Eric Johnson (with whom she has three children), Simpson reportedly began dating musician Thomas Eisenhood.
