Dakota Mortensen will not be joining the next season of Vanderpump Villa, Variety has confirmed. The cast members’ storylines for “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” are expected to be edited out from Season 3 of the reality series, which is scheduled to debut April 16, but Hulu did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This news came after numerous headlines regarding Mortensen and his ex Taylor Frankie Paul.
On March 16, Hulu suspended filming of Season 5 of Mormon Wives due to an investigation into domestic violence between the couple due to allegations against both parties. No decisions have been made regarding the future of Mortensen or Paul on “Mormon Wives.”
The two had a toxic relationship that went on and off on and off throughout the show. During the series premiere in 2024, Paul was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after a fistfight with Mortensen and was sentenced to probation. Although the arrest was part of the show, the actual fight was not shown on camera. Then, on March 19, three days before the start of Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, TMZ leaked a video of an incident in which Paul threw feces at Mortensen while his child was in the room.

ABC then canceled Season 22 of “The Bachelorette.” It has not yet been announced whether it will be broadcast at a later date. “In light of today’s newly released video, we have made the decision not to move forward with a new season of The Bachelorette at this time and are focused on supporting our family,” a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said in a statement.
Following her season’s cancellation, Paul issued a lengthy statement from her agent saying:
“Taylor is extremely grateful for ABC’s support as her family’s safety and security is her top priority. After years of enduring extensive emotional and physical abuse and threats of retribution in silence, Taylor has finally found the strength to confront her accusers and is taking steps to protect her and her children from further harm,” the statement read. “Too many women are suffering in silence, surviving with ex-partners who are aggressive, jealous, and refuse to move forward with their lives. Taylor remains silent for fear of further abuse, retribution, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all options, seeking support, and preparing to embrace and share her story.”
Mortensen will star in the Alex Cooper-produced YouTube reality competition series, which is scheduled to stream on April 6th.
