Taylor Dome officially changed her last name to Lautner after getting married, but to avoid confusion, we’ll refer to her by her maiden name here. It’s an issue they themselves grapple with, and they’re happy to joke about it. In fact, when Lautner appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video, the three Taylors recreated the Spider-Man meme about finding your doppelgänger.
The Lautners are very open about their lives and marriage, and even have their own podcast, “The Squeeze.” Here’s some information about Dome and how her and Lautner’s marriage came to be.
Who is Taylor Dome?
Dome is a registered nurse and completed her studies in 2019. She is also working on her influencer profile, launching LEMONS by Tay, a site dedicated to self-care and mental health, in January 2022.
She also used to be a big Twilight fan. She shared a hilarious throwback photo of herself wearing a Twilight sweatshirt in November 2020 with the hashtag “#tbt #twilightforever.”
In June 2022, she shared a video about her childhood crush, only to find out that the dome was once Team Edward.
Still, she ended up marrying Jacob Black. Lautner commented on the post: “It’s about time we won something.”
How did Lautner and Dohm meet?
Dome is a close friend of Lautner’s sister, Makenna Moore, and she introduced them.
“Actually, my sister Makenna introduced us,” he said in an interview. “She called me and said, ‘Hey, I found your future wife. You have to meet this girl.’ And the rest is history.”
During an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, he told Clarkson: “It’s just me and my sister, so we’re very close. She always said she would introduce me to my future wife, and I was like, ‘Sure.'”
At the time of the intro, Lautner had taken a break from acting.
“I wanted to take a step back and enjoy life and spend time with my family and friends,” he told People magazine. “And I successfully met my fiancée, so everything went well.”
They connected on game night, he explained.
“I love game nights. She (Moore) says, ‘Just have a game night and invite me and some of my friends, and I’ll bring Tay. She’s one of them and you guys just have to meet,'” he said. “We hit it off, and the rest is history.”
How long have Lautner and Dohm been dating?
The two revealed they were dating in 2018, and Lautner proposed in November 2021. They got married on November 11, 2022 at Epoch Estate Wines outside Paso Robles, California. Lautner wore a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo, and Dome wore a Winnie Couture A-line dress.
Lautner said of his proposal to Access Hollywood, “She always said, ‘I don’t want anything special. I don’t want anything big and grand. Do it in the kitchen…I love to cook, so I always just make food in the kitchen and eat it on the counter. And she said, ‘After a night of eating in the kitchen, that’s all I want. Simple.'”
But he couldn’t stop himself from trying a little harder.
“We got a bunch of flowers and candles and a sign. So she went in there when she got home at the end of the day after a long day at work,” he said. “It was a nice surprise.”
“It actually took a little longer than I expected for her to say ‘yes’ because she was crying so hard she couldn’t even walk up to me, so I was on target. I had to leave to go and wake her up while trying to get her to stop crying… It took a second, but it was very sweet.”
For Dome’s 26th birthday, Lautner gave her a tattoo. The two got matching tattoos on their left wrists representing their wedding date, “11.11.22.”
The two first appeared together on the red carpet at the CMT Awards in April 2022.
Why did Dome change its name to Lautner?
Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Lautner jokingly revealed that his wife plans to officially change her last name, saying, “It’s going to make things even more complicated because we already share the same name,” adding, “I’m a narcissist.”
The two appeared at the Rare Impact Awards in October 2023 in matching looks.
On Wednesday, October 4, the Taylors attended the inaugural Rare Impact Fund benefit event hosted by Selena Gomez. They wore chic color-coordinated outfits in black, with Lautner wearing a two-piece velvet ensemble with satin detailing and short sleeves, and matching black shoes. The wife wore a strapless black gown with a skirt that parted at thigh level. She wore a black and white blazer draped over her shoulders. On her feet were nude high-heeled sandals.
The two will celebrate their first wedding anniversary in 2023.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Lautners celebrated their first wedding anniversary, posting glowing tributes to each other. After saying their vows, Lautner shared a photo of herself and Dohm walking down the aisle, both smiling happily.
He wrote in the caption, “I’ve had the honor of calling you my wife for 365 days. Every day somehow I feel a little bit more grateful. Thank you for putting up with me, I know it’s not always easy;) I love you so much! Here’s to wrapping up our second year!”
“I love you so much,” Dome wrote in the comment.
She added: “My best friend.”
Dome shared his post on Instagram. Here’s a reel of clips from her wedding weekend set to Taylor Swift’s “You Are In Love (Taylor’s Version),” in which she playfully references her husband’s ex-girlfriend and current friend. In the clip, the newlyweds can be seen kissing, dancing together and looking like they are having a lot of fun.
“Happy 1st wedding anniversary to my best friend!” Domu wrote in the caption. “Being your wife is my favorite thing. I never expected to find a love like yours.”
He then commented, “I love you…but no one needed to see me unleash my hips like that.”
Dohm talked about why she and Lautner aren’t ready to have a baby yet come March 2024.
In a March 23 interview with Us Weekly, the Dome spoke about their stance on starting a family. “Sometimes I get a little nervous,” she said. “How do we raise kids who can speak up for themselves and talk to us about this? That’s scary. How do you parent now? People like Dr. “I’m so thankful for people who are struggling or just having a baby. It’s great to see them on that journey and to have the support of people like Dr. Amen to promote independence and whatever that may be,” she added. Someday, at some point, (children) will be born. ”
She also talked about how the couple is doing in their first year of marriage and praised her husband’s communication skills. “That’s something we have to work on,” she said. “We’ve been through a lot. People always say, ‘How was your first year of marriage?’ And we’re like, ‘Man, it’s been really great.’ We’ve already been through a lot of life together, so we’ve learned how Taylor communicates, how I communicate, and that’s just the biggest thing. Even when there are disagreements, you can still communicate. For example, I don’t process things quickly, but Taylor knows what she wants, so I’m like, “Okay, let’s get back to the topic in a little while.” I know you don’t know what’s going on, so let’s get back to it. ”
The couple announced that they are expecting a baby in March 2026.
On March 27, the Lautners announced the birth with a pregnancy photo taken in a gorgeous green field. In the image, Dome is wearing a white sleeveless dress, while Lautner is wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. They frolic and display a copy of the ultrasound.
In the caption, the couple wrote, “What’s better than two Taylor Lautners? 🤍,” hinting that another little Taylor might be on the way.
